Photoshop - Why?
Photographers have always used different lenses (that see things differently than our eyes do); they make use of polarizing filters to enhance skies and take glare off water; we alter the apertures to isolate subjects..stuff like that. These things distort what we really see. Photoshop is just an addition to a photographers toolbox...it extends capabilities.
I have used Photoshop to design icons for apps and one is in use at the moment in the Apple Apps Store. The App is called "Tiptoe".
